Denmark Community Activity Center happenings

New and exciting things are happening at the Denmark Community Activity Center (DCAC) located in the lower level of 141 Highridge Avenue! This month, the center has begun hosting two new initiatives on Wednesday mornings that are aimed at drawing the community closer together. Last week, we spoke with organizers to learn more.

Recently, the DCAC has partnered with Denmark Connects to launch a new weekly event for parents and care providers of young children. Each Wednesday, Denmark Connects will host an "Open Playdate" from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. where parents and caregivers will be able to socialize and work on projects while their children safely play together. Dufeck Wood Products has kindly donated large round cheese boxes to store a variety of toys and a cozy play corner has been set up. Denmark Connects will host the playdate every Wednesday going forward except for on holidays.

At the same time, Denmark Connects will also be facilitating "Coffee with a Cop" at the DCAC on the second Wednesday of each month. All community members are welcome to the center on those days from 8 a.m.-9 a.m. for coffee, donuts and conversation with one of the Denmark DEOs. This is a great opportunity to meet your local law enforcement as well as a chance to voice any concerns or issues you may be experiencing.
