DENMARK HISTORY - Chicago & North Western Railway completed switch from steam to diesel in 1956

When the Chicago & North Western Railway completed their line through Denmark in 1906, the passenger trains that served the community were powered by steam engines. As technology rapidly developed throughout the 1900s, railroads began switching to diesel powered trains.
