DENMARK HISTORY - Denmark School District expanded four-year-old kindergarten in 2000

In 2000, the Denmark School District expanded its early education program to include all four- and five-year-olds.  Previously, four-year-old kindergarten was available to students who needed extra help, so the program was very limited in scope. With the expansion, the “district no longer is forced to discriminate against some families”.
