Manitowoc County and the Wisconsin National Guard will be hosting a recurring COVID-19 community testing site at the Manitowoc County Expo Center, 4921 Expo Dr., Manitowoc. 

The agencies undertook the first of four testing days on Tuesday. The next three will run at the site from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each of the following days:

• October 20

Virtual instruction will continue for Denmark public school students for at least one additional week than anticipated, District Administrator Luke Goral announced at the start of the week.

DENMARK – It would be hard to conjure a worse season debut than the one Denmark High School suffered on Friday night in Denmark.

DENMARK -- The Denmark Vikings season got off to the rockiest of starts in a 42-6 loss to Wrightstown at Denmark High School.

The Tigers dominated from start to finish, scoring three touchdowns in the first 10 minutes of the game, then adding three more touchdowns over the first nine minutes of the second period.

DENMARK – Despite the loss of three All-Conference First Teamers on offense and two First Teamers on defense, Denmark seemed primed to take another step up the ladder of success Tom Neuman put in place two seasons ago.

Neuman took a struggling program to the first round of the 2018 playoffs, then to the second round last season. Level 3 would certainly have been the logical – if lofty – ambition for 2020.

SHIRLEY—Harvest time has moved into full swing, well ahead of last year’s slog of a season and beating most precedents to set up what may be a record year in many respects. 

DENMARK – While any coach relishes the luxury of a heady three-year starting quarterback, he eventually must start planning for the future. And that future inevitably means going from the comfort of a steady leader to the unknowns of a neophyte.

DENMARK – For Denmark High School volleyball this fall, the good news is also the bad news. 

The Vikings took the leap last year from middle-of-the-pack conference-dwellers over a three-year span to second in 2019 and lost just two seniors off a 26-11 team that reached the second round of the playoffs.
